VisAsim-Demonstration - An innovative communication and planning instrument for wind turbines

VisAsim, the visual-acoustic simulation of wind parks, has a great potential to support the public in planning processes to form their opinion on wind energy infrastructures. Therefore, VisAsim integrates for representative Swiss wind energy landscapes virtual landscape models and acoustic simulations of wind turbine noise in one simulation tool. The simulation can be presented to a broad public with a mobile lab. The objective of the project "VisAsim-Demonstration" is to develop a VisAsim-Demonstrator and to present this innovative communication and planning instrument in the scope of an exhibition on wind energy, which is touring through Switzerland. Feedback on the demonstrator from the public is collected in order to analyze the quality and the presentation of the demonstrator. After a successful test phase, the demonstrator can be borrowed by interested parties.
